Welcome to Konrad’s Wild Journey
Hi there, and welcome to Konrad’s Wild Journey! I’m thrilled to have you here as I share a little bit about my life, my love for wildlife photography, and where I’m heading next.
My journey began in Cape Town, South Africa, where I grew up surrounded by stunning landscapes and a deep appreciation for nature. As I explored more of Southern Africa’s wild beauty, I discovered a passion for capturing these moments on camera. This interest quickly turned into something more—an obsession, really—with wildlife photography. My camera became a way for me to express how I see the natural world, preserving each breathtaking scene and every small detail that makes the wilderness so incredible.
It all started in 2021, during a trip to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. The wild landscapes, the diverse wildlife, and the raw beauty of the Kalahari sparked something in me, pushing me to pursue photography seriously. Since then, I’ve been on a mission to refine my skills, capture powerful images, and share my love for wildlife with others. I’ve been fortunate to see my work recognized by big names such as NatGeo, and I’ve even had the chance to win some awards such as the BirdlifeSA Youth competition in 2024. These accomplishments have motivated me to keep improving and to go even further in my journey.
Next year, I’ll be living the dream—spending almost the entire year in the bush. I’ll be exploring, photographing, and immersing myself in the wild places I love. My camera will be my constant companion as I venture deep into the heart of Africa’s wilderness, capturing images that tell the story of these incredible landscapes and creatures.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to bring my passion for wildlife photography to a larger audience. Once I start my studies in Germany, I’m planning to lead photo tours to Southern Africa. This will be a chance to share my favorite places with others, helping photographers of all levels experience and capture the magic of the African bush. There’s nothing quite like being in these landscapes, and I can’t wait to show others what makes them so special.
I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about my journey. If you’re keen to dive deeper into photography or simply want to keep up with my adventures, make sure to subscribe to my newsletter and follow me on YouTube and Instagram.
Thanks for joining me on this wild journey—let’s see where it takes us!
